Join us in Timisoara’s Liberty Square (Piața Libertății) on Friday, the 29th of September 2023, starting at 5:00 PM (Romanian time) to celebrate Interreg Cooperation Day.
With substantial financial support from the European Union, the Interreg IPA cross-border cooperation programmes have been actively addressing diverse challenges in the Romanian-Serbian border region. Working with project beneficiaries, we have successfully solved various local cross-border challenges. These solutions span areas such as labour mobility, social and cultural inclusion, environmental protection, emergency preparedness, sustainable use of natural resources, and enhancements to transportation services and infrastructure in the border region.
The health and well-being of our citizens have remained at the forefront of all Interreg-IPA programmes. Through the Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme, we have invested more than 18 million Euros of EU funds in cross-border projects aimed at delivering top-tier medical services to the people living in the Romanian-Serbian border area.
Given that 2023 is the European Year of Skills, medical professionals and professors from medical universities will take the opportunity during the Interreg Cooperation Day to showcase life-saving techniques. This endeavour not only injects fresh momentum into lifelong learning but also highlights the achievements of doctors participating in various professional courses within the framework of Romanian-Serbian cross-border projects.
